An Encounter with Christ is one of ECYD’s hallmark spiritual experiences — it’s both simple and profound, meant to help young men and women deepen in their faith, see Christ alive and active in their lives, in Scripture, and in the world around them.

Encounters with Christ, being the hallmark moment where ECYD members and their friends gather for moments of prayer, fellowship, and formation.
Each encounter consists of the following activities:
- Adoration and confession
- Mentoring opportunities with adult formators
- Gospel reflections
- Deep-dive thematic discussions
- Formation talks
- Fellowship and social moments (games, icebreakers, etc.)
Yes. Although the encounter evenings are for both girls and boys, small groups are gender and age-specific (boys and girls separate, and divided between upperclassmen and lowerclass men).
We do gather altogether as one community during adoration and formation sessions.
All encounters are chaperoned and moderated by approved adult chaperones and formators, among whom are Legionary of Christ priests, Regnum Christi Consecrated Women, Regnum Christi Adults and Regnum Christi Missionaries.
We follow the safe environment guidelines established by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Regnum Christi Federation.
